Rick
has been managing national events as an independent contractor since
1991. He has worked in every region of the United States, plus
Toronto and London. Some of the more interesting event venues
include the Louisiana Superdome; the Houston Astrodome; Washington
Redskin’s Fed Ex Field; the Concert Hall, Terrace Theatre and Family
Theatre of the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.; Lakeland Air Force
Base in San Antonio and the Boston World Trade Center. For
six years he was Production Manager of FIRST NIGHT® WILMINGTON (DE),
an annual event with up to 40 performance venues and over 250 artists.
Organizations he has worked for include the National Football League;
Gubernatorial Inauguration Committees for Massachusetts and Delaware;
Points of Light Foundation; National Women’s Law Center; Emily’s
List; Anti-Defamation League; MBNA; the DuPont Corporation; People
for the American Way; Wellness Community; the Delaware Foundation
for Reaching Citizens with Cognitive Disabilities; and Project Children. From
2002-2006 he was Coordinator of the Stage Management Mentoring Project
for the United States Institute for Theatre Technology where he assembled
and supervised a staff of 25 stage managers responsible for a dozen
major events at the national 4-day conferences. Rick founded
and still heads the M. F. A. Stage Management program for the Professional
Theatre Training Program at the University of Delaware and holds
an M.F.A. in Directing from Tulane University.
